On this page of our website you will see evidence of the most unbelievable cruelty to animals. Cruelty I never thought possible in a so-called civilised world. Our web designers have very kindly added links to websites dedicated to the cause of eradicating this inhuman behaviour.

The Canadian seal cull.

It saddens me terribly as all the information on the Canadian seal cull comes into the SM office. IFAW covers this annual slaughter every year on their web site and you can help by visiting the site and signing the petition. You see on the sites the terrible death that these innocent creatures endure every year. Our people have always believed that all life is sacred. Not just the animals, insects and plants, but the earth itself, the rocks and the rainbows too. All are alive in spirit.

So many people are working in harmony with nature now, there are more spiritual people in the world every day. Sadly it seems that the spiritual ones are constantly outnumbered! Never fear, this will change. There are more people who are making a conscious decision to live a more spiritual life and honour the Earth as their mother and provider of all things necessary for life.

Your bible says that man was given stewardship over the animals. This does not mean that he can do what he likes. It does not mean that he can treat them cruelly in any way. From beating a dog to factory farming of poultry, where the poor creatures never see the light of day and are fed many proteins and substances to force them to put on more weight than mother nature intended, all these things are wrong and against the way of light.

Things are changing now though, more and more people are demanding organic foods, free range eggs and food without unnatural substances being injected into them or sprayed onto them. We really are beginning to make a difference in the world of food and the supermarkets are beginning to take notice. It is a start.

Stewardship over the animals was a charter to care for them, every single one, every single day. How far man has strayed from this. The population of the planet and its demand for cheap poultry on the supermarket shelves has made the factory farm a necessity, or that is the argument employed. Slowly our demands for a better quality of life for the animals will change that. But what possible argument can be employed for the wholesale slaughter of innocent seal pups with sharp spiked clubs, when they are less than a few weeks old.

These creatures are not killed for food. They are killed for their fur. They are killed so that the pampered rich can wrap themselves in coats made from the skins of the pups. Why oh why do the Canadian people allow the torture of these wonderful creatures, bludgeoned and left to die in agony. It has to stop, now.

I remember an advert on TV a long time ago that showed models walking on a catwalk. They were proudly wearing full-length fur coats and as they walked the bottoms of the coats swept the catwalk. Suddenly blood oozed from the coats and flooded onto the catwalk and the girls screamed in terror. The advert against the fur trade was banned as tasteless. It should be re-run immediately and the rich encouraged to care for animals and taught that through compassion they should not buy fur.

I saw a picture on the IFAW web site of an innocent seal looking up with those big bulging beautiful innocent eyes as a man with a spiked club was about to reign blows down upon him. And if this beautiful creature, who has harmed no-one, and only wants to live his life as the angels intended, is lucky, death will come swiftly. What could possibly be going on in the minds of the men to enable them, let alone encourage them, to inflict such terrible pain and suffering on such an innocent creature? Is profit that important that someone could forsake all of mother nature's laws, give up every ounce of love and compassion for fellow creatures? Is the fashion trade so important? Is it really necessary for the rich and famous to be bedecked in the fur of baby seals? Are the sealers so devoid of feeling that they can perform these deeds without batting an eye or losing one moment's sleep. If they are then I pity them, for their spirits are sorely damaged. Angels cry.

What you will see here will shock you. The video clips may disturb you for a long time but it is so very important that we try as hard as we can to stop this.

By far the worst example on this site is the Chinese who regularly skin alive hundreds of dogs and cats every day. They are skinned alive because apparently the skins are more easily removed. The dogs are clubbed or held by their back legs and have their heads smashed against the ground. The intention is not to kill them but to stun them. They are then hung or held by their back legs and skinned from there, forward to the head. The animal writhes in excruciating agony as the process goes on.

Once skinned, the animal is devoid of its eyelids, ears, pads and totters around for a while longer in terrible, unimaginable pain. It may die mercifully quickly then, of extreme shock. Bodies still alive are left in the dirt. The animals waiting in their cramped cages see what is happening and cry out the most terrified screams, in the knowledge that it is going to happen to them too.

This is all done for the fur and hair. China exports most of it on anything from toys to shoes and handbags. If we remove the market, the cruelty will stop.

So DON'T BUY IT FROM CHINA!

At the same time we urge everyone, either via the dedicated website for which we have a link from here, write to your MP, the Prime Minister, The Chinese embassy, and do anything you can to spread the word of this barbaric practice. Email your friends and everyone you know and tell them about it. Remember to give them either our website address or the dedicated site addresses so that they can visit for themselves.

The other main item is the `artist' who took a dog from the street and tethered it in an art gallery and along with visitors to the gallery, watched it slowly starve to death. He intends to do it again. Lets stop him. Go to the link, sign the petition and view the harrowing pictures of this `artist's' work..

It is my hope that one day this part of our website will not be needed. I hope that man will learn that `stewardship of the animals' is not a right to do with them as he pleases but a responsibility to love and care for them.

In the 2007, the 'artist' Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, took a dog from the street, he tied him to a rope in an art gallery, starving him to death.

For several days, the 'artist' and the visitors of the exhibition have watched emotionless the shameful 'masterpiece' based on the dog's agony, until eventually he died.
