A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell.
He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups, and
set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard.
As he was driving the last nail into the post,
he felt a tug on his overalls.
He looked down into the eyes of little boy.

'Mister,' he said, 'I want to buy one of your puppies.'
'Well,' said the farmer,
as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his
neck, 'These puppies come from fine parents
and cost a good deal of money.'

The boy dropped his head for a moment.
Then reaching deep into his pocket,
he pulled out a handful of change
and held it up to the farmer.

'I've got thirty-nine cents.
Is that enough to take a look?'

'Sure,' said the farmer.
And with that he let out a whistle.
'Here, Dolly!' he called.

Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran
Dolly followed by four little balls of fur.

The little boy pressed his face against the chain link
fence. His eyes danced with delight. As the dogs
made their way to the fence, the little boy noticed
something else stirring inside the doghouse.

Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably
smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat
awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward
the others, doing its best to catch up....

'I want that one,' the little boy said, pointing to the
runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and
said, 'Son, you don't want that puppy. He will never
be able to run and play with you like these other
dogs would.'

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down,
and began rolling up one leg of his trousers.

In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down
both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially
made shoe.

Looking back up at the farmer, he said, 'You see sir,
I don't run too well myself,
and he will need someone who understands.'

With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached
down and picked up the little pup.

Holding it carefully handed it to the little boy.
'How much?' asked the little boy. 'No charge,'
answered the farmer, 'There's no charge for love.'

The world is full of people who need someone
who understands .

Welcome to our brand new website dedicated to all things Spirit, Mind & Body.
People always say to me, “why do you always say Spirit, Mind & Body when most people say Mind Body and Spirit?”  Well the answer is simple, being of Native American origin, to my ancestors the spirit always came first, and that is what you have to feed every day with all the things that you do and the thoughts that you manifest.  Spirit is the most important and should be first.  However, those who put Mind first are only following their tradition and it is not really wrong to do so.
Here though, we hope that you can really feed your spirit!  Our aim is to help enlighten and empower you to spread a little light and love into this world.  We want to help remove the dogma of religion and get you straight to the heart of true spirituality.  Was it not the Buddha who said, “ You will know enlightenment when it tastes of freedom”?
In our regularly changing website you will find a myriad of topics covered that relate directly to your spirituality!
We welcome your input and we have a page dedicated to your comments and stories of your experiences so please do send them in to info@spiritualitymatters.co.uk simple as that!!
Let us have details of any events that you are planning or that you know are happening in your area and we will list them on our events page, but please give us the details at least 2 months before the date of the event!!  Again:  info@spiritualitymatters.co.uk
I am also very busy with another revised edition of my book BURIED BY THE CHURCH which I run off myself from the computer.  It now has more fascinating facts and discoveries inside and is available from us for only £5-99 including postage.
Enjoy the website and feel free to contact us about anything anytime!

IT'S YOUR CHOICE…..

John is the kind of guy you love to hate. He is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, 'If I were any better, I would be twins!'
He was a natural motivator. If an employee was having a bad day, John was there telling the employee how to look on the positive side of the situation.
Seeing this style really made me curious, so one day I went up and asked him, 'I don't get it!
You can't be a positive person all of the time. How do you do it?'
He replied, 'Each morning I wake up and say to myself, you have two choices today. You can choose to be in a good mood or ... you can choose to be in a bad mood
I choose to be in a good mood.'
Each time something bad happens, I can choose to be a victim or...I can choose to learn from it. I choose to learn from it.
Every time someone comes to me complaining, I can choose to accept their complaining or... I can point out the positive side of life. I choose the positive side of life.
'Yeah, right, it's not that easy,' I protested.
'Yes, it is,' he said. 'Life is all about choices. When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice. You choose how you react to situations. You choose how people affect your mood.
You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood. The bottom line: It's your choice how you live your life.'
I reflected on what he said. Soon hereafter, I left the Tower Industry to start my own business. We lost touch, but I often thought about him when I made a choice about life instead of reacting to it.
Several years later, I heard that he was involved in a serious accident, falling some 60 feet from a communications tower.
After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care, he was released from the hospital with rods placed in his back.
I saw him about six months after the accident.
When I asked him how he was, he replied, 'If I were any better, I'd be twins...Wanna see my scars?'
I declined to see his wounds, but I did ask him what had gone through his mind as the accident took place.
'The first thing that went through my mind was the well-being of my soon-to-be born daughter,' he replied. 'Then, as I lay on the ground, I remembered that I had two choices: I could choose to live or...I could choose to die. I chose to live.'
'Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?' I asked
He continued, '..the paramedics were great.
They kept telling me I was going to be fine. But when they wheeled me into the ER and I saw the expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses, I got really scared. In their eyes, I read 'he's a dead man'. I knew I needed to take action.'
'What did you do?' I asked.
'Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me,' said John. 'She asked if I was allergic to anything 'Yes, I replied.' The doctors and nurses stopped working as they waited for my reply. I took a deep breath and yelled, 'Gravity'.'
Over their laughter, I told them, 'I am choosing to live. Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead.'
He lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors, but also because of his amazing attitude... I learned from him that every day we have the choice to live fully.
Attitude, after all, is everything .
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.' Matthew 6:34.
After all today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday.
